Installing the Tap Water Filter - Hidden AeratorUpdated 2 months ago
What is a Hidden Aerator?
A hidden aerator, also known as a recessed or concealed aerator, is a device installed within the faucet spout, rather than on the exterior. It mixes air with the water flow, creating a smooth, splash-free stream while conserving water and maintaining pressure. Hidden aerators offer a sleek, streamlined look for faucets, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
How do I know if my tap has a hidden aerator?
- Check the Faucet Spout: Look at the tip of the faucet spout. If you can't see an aerator attached externally, it might be hidden.
- Feel the Spout: Run your fingers around the inside edge of the spout. If there's no visible or detachable part, it's likely a hidden aerator.
- Look underneath the Spout: If your aerator looks like the below image, it has a hidden aerator.
Step 1: Remove the Aerator
- This requires an “aerator removal tool” to remove your aerator. We don't stock these but here are examples of where to buy them.
Step 2: Attach an Adapter
- In your parcel, you would have received 5 metal adapters. Try each adapter and select the appropriate one that fits your tap.
Step 3: Attach the Filter
- Attach the valve of the filter to your adapter.
- Attach the housing of the filter to the valve.
- If you are still unsure, here is a video showing you how to attach your filter using an adapter.
